Toki Pona | Prolangs

Toki Pona is a character based off of a constructed language of the same name. So, to make this less confusing. Toki Pona = the character toki pona = the language

•the simple design of just two colors, a basic yet expressive mouth, the use of simple shapes and lines, and arms hidden under their clothing do a great job of reflecting toki pona’s emphasis on minimalism as a conlang onto Toki Pona’s character design.

•The little lines on Toki Pona’s hat don’t just make Toki Pona’s character more recognizable, but (to me) look like “emitters” which are a type of radical that make up some toki pona logograms, further linking Toki Pona as a character to toki pona as a conlang.

•also, the hat and scarf are just really cool and the symbol on Toki Pona’s chest is cute but also says the words “toki pona”.

I’ve been working on a bunch of different Hwei skin concepts, but Star Nemesis is the first to really posses me. As interesting as it would be to make Hwei a Star Guardian, continuing his theme of his abilities being bright and colorful while he’s so dour, I was more interested in using his animations to make him a reluctant antagonist. Whoever, whatever he is he doesn’t want to be fighting the Star Guardians.

But stopping isn’t a option.
